In this classic adaptation of John Wyndham’s powerful novel a meteor shower disrupts the earth's ecosystem, blinding all who observed it and awakening meat-eating plants. As the hungry foliage grows ever faster, a sailor and a young schoolgirl journey from London to Paris in an attempt to link up with others who can still see and to try to save humanity. Meanwhile, trapped in a lighthouse, two marine biologists fight desperately against the vicious plants.

We are delighted to welcome actress Janina Faye to introduce this screening.
