For Ella, life has taken a decidedly dark turn. Her drinking threatened to get completely out of control and she not only lost her husband, but she also lost custody of her young daughters to him and his new partner, when he made his fresh start.
At almost 40, Ella is forced to move back in with her father. Re-evaluating her life, she is determined to become – and remain – sober. And then she strikes up an unlikely friendship with a mysterious teenage boy, whose belief in her as a mother might just be the key to her re-discovering her self-worth.
This moving drama was directed by Stephen Moyer (The Parting Glass and TV’s True Blood) and written by Rebecca Callard, from her own stage play. The stellar cast is headed by Oscar and Golden Globe winner Anna Paquin and features our own Festival Patron, Ray Winstone, as Ella’s long-suffering father.
We are delighted that, subject to work commitments, Director Stephen Moyer and actors Ray Winstone and Luca Hogan, writer/actress Rebecca Callard and producer Phin Glynn will be joining us.
